We Review Your Application and Prepare Your Documents
Before anything goes to the state, our business formation specialists manually review the details you submit. We check for missing information in the application, formatting issues, or anything that might cause rejection by the state.
If we find a problem, we will not file it as is. We reach out by email, and you'll also see it flagged when you log into your account. If everything checks out, we move your paperwork into the next stage and prepare it for submission.
We Submit Your Application to the State
Once your documents pass the manual review, we file them with your state. You'll get an email when this happens, and your account status updates to "Filed." The next status update will be when we receive any response from the state on your application.
Swyft Filings Standard vs. Premium Processing, What's the Difference?
Standard processing prepares and files documents in 3 business days, and Premium processing does the same in 1 day. Which option makes the most sense usually comes down to how soon you need your business legally formed, for example, if you're opening a bank account or signing a lease on a specific date.
Note: Swyft Filings' expedited processing is not the same as state expedited processing. Swyft’s expedited processing means we will prepare and file your formation documents with the state within the promised timeframe. It does not include state review and approval. State turnaround timelines depend entirely on the filing method (online/offline) and the state's workload.

Your Registered Agent Service is Activated
After we submit your application, we activate the registered agent service if you selected it during checkout. If you choose Swyft Filings as your registered agent, this is billed at $149 per quarter starting after your order is placed.
This is a separate, ongoing charge in addition to your one-time formation fee, and it covers a real service: Someone is available during business hours to accept legal and state documents on behalf of your LLC. We want this to be clear upfront rather than something you notice later on a statement.
How to Track Your Swyft Filings Order Status Online
You don't have to wait on an email to know where things stand. Swyft Filings uses an online customer dashboard to share order information, status updates, documents, and compliance updates. Log in to your Swyft Filings account, and you'll see your order status updated in real time as it moves through each stage.
What "Filed," "Completed," and "Rejected" Mean in Your Account
- Filed means we've submitted your paperwork to the state and it's in their queue for review.
- Completed means the state approved your filing and your business is officially formed.
- Rejected means the state found an issue and sent it back. We'll reach out to explain what needs to be fixed and help you resubmit.
What Happens If There's a Problem With Your Application
Most applications move through without issue, but it helps to know what happens if yours doesn't.
What Happens if Swyft Filings Finds a Business Name Conflict During Processing?
If the name you chose is already in use in your state, or too similar to an existing business name, the state may reject the filing on that basis. When this happens, we'll notify you and help you pick an alternate name so we can resubmit as quickly as possible.
What Happens if the State Rejects Your Application?
A rejection isn't the end of the process; it just means something needs to be corrected. We’ll notify you about the issue and help you understand the next steps available to you. What if I Want to Cancel My Order?
If you have decided to cancel your order, contact our customer support immediately. Whether you can cancel depends on how far along your order is in processing. Refund eligibility depends on the applicable refund policy and the stage of processing. Government, state, and certain third-party fees may be non-refundable.
Also, note that government fees, recurring subscriptions, and service charges are all subject to different terms. Please refer to our cancellation policy for more details.
Swyft Filings Refund Policy if Your State Application Is Rejected
If the rejection is the result of a mistake in the paperwork we prepared, we will correct it as soon as possible at no additional cost. A rejection due to a state-level issue, such as a name conflict, is not the same as an error on our part.
If you decide you want a refund, you should submit the request within 60 days of purchase. A customer service representative will evaluate your issue and share the resolution in accordance with our refund policy.
What Documents do You Receive Once Your Application is Approved?
Once your state approves your filing, you'll receive your stamped, state-filed formation document (commonly your Articles of Organization or Certificate of Formation, depending on your state) in your dashboard. This is the official proof that your LLC legally exists, and you'll need it later for things like opening a business bank account. You can find and download it directly from your Swyft Filings account.
Additional Services We Activate After Approval
Once your LLC is formed, we activate any additional services included in your package or added at checkout. Depending on which package you chose, this can include the following.
EIN Application
If you have chosen the Standard or Premium package, we submit that request once your LLC is approved. You will be updated once your EIN is approved by the IRS.
Domain Name and Website
Our paid packages include a free domain name and a done-for-you website. We get that set up after state approval, so you have a place online ready to go alongside your new business.
Business Amendments
If you need to change your business name or any other detail in your Articles of Organization down the road, we can help with the paperwork and filing.
Setting Up Compliance Alerts With ComplianceGuard
Once your business is formed, you take on ongoing state requirements, such as annual reports and franchise taxes, that vary by state and may or may not include a reminder from the state itself. If your package includes ComplianceGuard, or you add it afterward, we set it up during this stage to help you track upcoming compliance deadlines and requirements.
Note: It's worth knowing the difference between this and your registered agent. Your registered agent receives legal notices and state correspondence on your business's behalf; this requirement is mandated by law. ComplianceGuard is an optional service. It does not receive documents; it tracks your deadlines and tells you when something is due.
Legal and Tax Support
Depending on your package, you may also have a free business tax consultation included, plus personalized guidance from a business attorney licensed in your state, legal review of your contracts and documents, and access to more than 250 customizable legal and business documents through the Swyft Legal Suite.
Banking and Business Address Services
If you add business banking essentials, a custom banking resolution, or a professional business address and virtual mailbox to your order, these are set up during this stage as well, which can help you prepare to open a business bank account.
